Sharon Smith-Mauney

Project Manager

Sharon Smith-Mauney is a seasoned project manager and DEI specialist, with more than 25 years of experience working with non-profit, private sector, government and community-based organizations in the areas of DEI, project management, training and development, and communications. Over the course of her career, she has led local, regional and national efforts for various non-profit and community-based organizations focused on addressing health, economic, education and political disparities on behalf of communities of color, and has developed training curriculum, created outreach programs and facilitated trainings and workshops for organizations committed to equity and social justice. She spent 18 years overseeing DEI efforts for the United States Tennis Association where she was at the forefront of building and leading strategies, partnerships, initiatives and policies that are still widely regarded throughout the industry.

A self-described trailblazer and lifelong advocate for inclusion and equity, Sharon draws upon her lived and work experiences, and strong communications and organizational skills, to support teams and leaders as they develop and implement strategies and policies that drive and sustain effective DEI behaviors and more equitable systems and processes.

She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of Colorado and has earned various certifications in diversity training, public relations, and production/communications.
