Cheryl Brown brings over 25 years’ experience to the Symmetra team as an HR professional, learning and development manager, facilitator and executive coach in the Asia Pacific region (Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore), the UK and South Africa She has worked with all levels of diverse leadership in a wide range of organisations in the private and public sector, specialising in assisting leaders, teams and organisations to realise their potential, work better, optimise team performance and effect sustainable change. Her deep experience in South Africa has provided her with invaluable experience and skills in working with the challenges of racial and ethnic differences and guiding others to do so effectively.
Cheryl holds a Masters in Organisational Coaching from Sydney University, informing her coaching with the theory and techniques of effective change while her practice is grounded in the realities of the business environment. Her accreditation in a range of assessment systems (ILI, Intuitiv, Hogan Development Series, MBTI, LSI, TMS) enables Cheryl to provide remarkably insightful feedback to leaders that supports a substantial shift in in their self-awareness and self-management – foundation stones for leading inclusively.
Cheryl has experience in coaching executives at all levels of organisations from CEOs and senior leadership teams, through senior managers, middle management and high potential candidates.
Her coaching approach is outcomes-focused and aimed at producing tangible, sustainable results for both the individual and the organisation. Her challenging yet supportive style leads to increased insight, effective action plans and the motivation required to apply learnings back in the work environment.
Cheryl is also a skilled facilitator with extensive experience working with groups at all levels of an organisation. She has designed and facilitated leadership development programs, encompassing a broad range of capability build, in industries including IT, FMCG, financial services, pharmaceuticals, mining, engineering, construction, energy, logistics, healthcare, professional services, local and state government, hospitality and not-for-profit organisations.
