American Disabilities Act Anniversary

The American Disabilities Act was signed into Law on July 26, 1990. The Act protects Americans with disabilities against discrimination in a similar way that the Civil Rights Act of 1964 makes discrimination based on race, religion, gender, national origin and other characteristics illegal.

 On signing the American Disabilities Act, George H. W. Bush said, “Let the shameful wall of exclusion finally come tumbling down.”
