NATIONAL HOLIDAY // AUSTRALIA
Australia Day is a public holiday for all Australians to celebrate the country’s people, land, diversity, indigenous cultures, freedom and democracy. Outstanding achievements by Australian people are acknowledged on this day with the Australian of the Year Awards.
Celebrated in tandem with Australia Day is Survival Day, an opportunity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians to acknowledge their history and future with the wider community by holding festive musical concerts and fairs.
