Buddha Day, formally known as ‘Vesak’, is observed by all practicing Buddhists, although there are some date and name variations according to differing traditions. This important day encompasses the birth, enlightenment (‘Nirvana’) and death (‘Parinirvana’) of Gautama Buddha, and is a joyous opportunity to reiterate the determination of followers to live noble lives, develop their minds, practice living kindness and bring peace and harmony to humanity.
