Corpus Christi

The celebration of Corpus Christi, or ‘Body of Christ’ in Latin, is observed primarily by the Catholic Church but also by some Anglican Churches (such as the Church of England). It is a feast in honour of the body and blood of Jesus Christ and usually involves an outdoor procession of worshippers after Sunday Mass.

Corpus Christi is a public holiday in some traditionally Catholic countries such as Austria, parts of Germany and Switzerland, Brazil, Bolivia, Croatia, Poland, Trinidad and Tobago, and Portugal.
