National Week of Deaf People

20 – 26 October 

Australia’s National Week of Deaf People (NWDP) is held every year from the second Saturday of October to the following Friday.  The National Day of Deaf People (NDDP) falls on the Sunday of this important week.

NWDP is a celebration of Deaf individuals and their achievements; as well as the language, culture and history of the Deaf Australian community.  It is marked with a wide variety of events including festivals, workshops, film nights and theatrical performances.
