Nativity of Christ (The Holy Nativity Feast)

The Eastern Orthodox Church is the second largest Christian communion in the world (after Roman Catholicism) and it is the primary faith in countries such as Greece, Romania and Russia. There are also significant Orthodox communities in Africa, Asia,Australia and the Americas.

The Eastern Orthodox Church adheres to a calendar system that currently sees fixed days of significance fall 13 days behind those of Western Christianity. Hence, the Nativity of Christ (Christmas) is celebrated on January 7.
