St Patrick’s Day

St Patrick, the Patron Saint of Ireland, is one of Christianity’s most widely known figures and the 17th of March is believed to be the date of his death. Interestingly, blue was the colour long associated with St Patrick, however, in modern times, it is customary to wear green on St Patrick’s Day (perhaps as a result of the customary donning of a shamrock) – and in the US, the Chicago River is actually dyed green for a few hours on the day.
