As Australian businesses have taken increasingly public positions on a range of social issues in recent years, this has raised questions – both publically and within organisations themselves – as to whether business should or should not have a role in promoting diversity, inclusion and social change. Hats off to HSF who has demonstrably set an example for other law firms by taking a public stand in support of numerous Australian social issues such as gender, domestic violence, multiculturalism, and LGBTI issues and organised a panel event on 25 August to challenge the thinking of corporate Australia in this regard.
