Eko Utomo

Eko, based in Indonesia, fluent in Indonesian and English, brings important deep cultural intelligence together with coaching, training and strategic management skills to the Symetra team.

Eko completed his undergraduate degree from Institut Teknologi Bandung majoring in Mining Engineering.he became a mining engineer working for the biggest mining contractor in Indonesia, Pamapersada Nusantara and then moved to the biggest mining company Freeport Indonesia.

During his service in Freeport Indonesia, Eko led a project socializing the ratification of United Nations Declaration of Human Rights to more than 10,000 Freeport Indonesia’s Papuan employees and non-Papuan employees. He also served as senior officer of the Nemangkawi Mining Institute designed to help Native Papuan develop their competencies to become Freeport Employees.

While completing his Masters degree in Management at the University of Prasetya Mulya, Eko worked for Holcim Indonesia, a subsidiary of Holcim International. As business coach, trainer and facilitator, Eko helped Holcim Employees to develop their mindset, competencies and skills to thrive and to make an effective contribution to the organization. He then moved to Lippo Group as Vice President of Learning & Development consulting across the Lippo group to design learning solutions that would help people to reach their full potential.

Eko finally embarked on a Doctoral Degree of Strategic Management in Fakultas Ekonomi Universitas Indonesia (FE UI) which on completion led to many coaching and consulting opportunities across a variety of industries.

His passion is helping Indonesian of all backgrounds to achieve their potential and become effective leaders.
Aligned with this he spends his energy and focus on three missions: Education for special need kids, Empowerment to local people and developing agrobusiness base entertainment to attract people to give a hand helping others.
Eko Utomo is a proud father of two special need children and believes that special children are born to special parents who will take care of them and will help them thrive.
