Jay is an experienced Diversity, equity and inclusion consultant, bringing four years of DEI consulting experience and eight years of training and learning development knowledge to the team. Jay has supported federal and state governments, government agencies, and corporate clients across retail, mining and resources, banking and professional services. Jay’s experience working with Australian-based organisations and large multinational corporations across DEI projects enables him to understand organisational challenges with a global lens.
As an experienced DEI consultant, Jay has broad experience in supporting clients across workplace system audits and culture reviews, DEI-related policy and process reviews, implementation of DEI surveys, development of DEI strategies and action plans, as well as the design, development and facilitation of DEI learning solutions to accelerate workplace behaviours and cultural change.
Jay has led several workplace culture reviews for large organisations to understand their current state. This has included broader DEI reviews and engagements that investigate specific gender and LGBTQ experiences. More recently, Jay has led and supported several clients by conducting workplace culture reviews into bullying, harassment and sexual harassment, providing insights into the organisation’s workplace risk, and providing recommendations that align with industry best practices and the national frameworks for the prevention and response to inappropriate behaviour, and demonstrating positive duty to create safe, respectful and inclusive workplaces.
Jay further designs and facilitates DEI learning solutions and workshops for clients on inclusive leadership, workplace safety and respect for working with executive and senior leaders, middle managers and front-line leaders to develop safer, more inclusive workplaces.Jay’s long-term involvement in employee resources groups and the DEI implementation team in a market-leading professional services firm enables him to understand the DEI governance and employee-led network challenges that help support broader DEI transformation and engagement across an organisation.
Jay is a Director on the board of the LGBTQ Domestic Violence Awareness Foundation. The foundation supports the awareness day on May 28 to focus on the unique experiences and circumstances faced by LGBTIQ+ domestic, family and intimate partner violence victims and survivors. Outside of social advocacy, Jay is a keen ceramicist and a member of Sydney’s inclusive Emerald City Kickball league, connecting and empowering the LGBTQ community through sport.
